Martim Ramos [Lisbon, 1983] has a Photography MA from the Royal College of Art [June 2018]. He graduated in History of Art from the New University of Lisbon (FCSH-UNL) and studied photography at Ar.co. He was awarded a fellowship by Gulbenkian Foundation [2016-18].
He was a member of [kameraphoto] between 2007 and 2014.
Frequent collaborations with the press include published work in Le Monde, Japan Times, Serafina [Folha de São Paulo], Time Magazine, Libération, Público, Expresso, Time Out and Jornal I. He was the resident photographer and photo editor in Obscena - performing arts magazine.

He conceived and coordinated [kameraphoto]’s photography courses between 2010 and 2013. He has been a frequent guest lecturer and speaker in photography and journalism courses and has coordinated several courses in Portugal and Brazil. Between 2014 and 2016 he was a Photography and Moving Image teacher at EPAD.
He curated the following exhibitions: Schadenfreude [kgaleria, Lisboa, 2011], Danos Colaterais [Collateral Damages, Encontros da Imagem, Braga, 2011] and Tanto Mar [So Much Sea, kgaleria, Lisboa, 2013].
He did artist residences in the following places and institutions: FAAP, São Paulo, during which he co-directed his first documentary: Othon. SWAP Residence Programme UK/Ukraine at the Centre for Urban History, Lviv, in 2018.
He co-created the following performances with artist Ana Vilela da Costa: Like Tears in Rain [Das Theatre, 2019], On the Creation of a World (First Hypothesis) [MUHNAC, Lisbon, 2016] and What forms of life would future viewers reconstruct from this material? [AnoZero, Coimbra, 2015].
He published the book melancholia in 2013.
